Anderson Bassets is a family owned and family run HOME for some of the best dogs a family could wish for! We are not large-scale breeders, a kennel, or a "puppy mill". We originally bought two Basset Hounds, Biscuit and Daisy. When their first litter was born, our youngest son fell in love with their only tri-color puppy, Roscoe. Then we purchased Roscoe a couple of friends, Ellie and Lily. Toot is a puppy from Daisy and Biscuit’s second litter. Daisy and Biscuit are older now and have been retired from our breeding program. Our Bassets are featured throughout the site and are AKC registered. They are members of our family and are not for sale! The purpose of this site is to help us find the best homes for their puppies. They will not be bred often, but when they are, we hope to find their babies loving families that are serious about pet ownership and the responsibilities that come with it, such as proper care, time, and devotion. Our Basset Hounds have free reign of our backyard during the day, but usually seek out a shady spot to nap, as soon as their bellies are full! If you are considering purchasing a puppy, please evaluate your lifestyle and living arrangements to make sure they are suitable for a new furry family member. Basset Hounds are typically lazy, but do love to play, and still require exercise. They do make good house pets, but again, need exercise to prevent weight gain that could cause health problems later. Our Bassets are quite devoted, to us, and each other. They do not like to be separated and have been known to whine and pout when they miss each other. If only humans were so devoted!!
